Our Beliefs
- About the Bible: We believe that the Bible is the divinely
inspired Word of God; that it contains no errors in the original manuscripts,
and has been preserved by God for us; that it is authoritative for this
church and for each of us in every age.
- About God: We believe that God eternally exists as three
Persons (Trinity) – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three
are one God.
- About Jesus Christ: We believe that Jesus Christ, the
eternal Son of God, was sent by the Father into the world to save sinners;
He was born of a virgin, and lived a sinless life; He was both fully God
and fully man, and was crucified for our sins; He was raised bodily from
the dead, and ascended into heaven where He now sits at the right hand
of the Father as Head of the Church and High Priest and Advocate for believers;
He is coming again personally, visibly, and bodily to reign as Lord.
- About the Holy Spirit: We believe that the Holy Spirit
is a Person, and is God, possessing all of the divine characteristics;
He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; He indwells,
baptizes, and seals believers forever at the moment of salvation; He continually
fills believers as they confess sin and surrender to Him.
- About Salvation: We believe that Jesus, through His
death on the cross, made salvation available for all. However, to receive
salvation one must repent of sin and trust Jesus Christ alone for salvation.
The true believer is eternally secure and cannot lose his salvation. Thus,
salvation is the free gift of God, provided by grace alone – through
faith alone – because of Christ alone, for the glory of God alone.
- About the Church: We believe a New Testament church
is a local body of baptized believers who have agreed together to worship
Jesus Christ, edify the believers, evangelize the lost and minister to
other. The church as two ordinances: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism symbolizes
the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the new life we
have in Him. The Lord’s Supper is a reminder of Christ’s
death and anticipates His Second Coming.
